World's fourth leading smartphone brand OPPO gathered analysts, observers, and members of the press in the renowned Louvre Museum in Paris, France to witness the global unveiling of its latest flagship smartphone, the OPPO Find X. The said event was also watched by people across the globe through a livestream hosted on OPPO's website. Find X's launch marks OPPO's entry to the European market.

Sporting a 6.4-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 2340 x 1080p resolution, the Find X, as a flagship device, is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 mobile platform. The phone's octa-core CPU is coupled with an Adreno 630 GPU with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB ROM. Internal storage is expandable up to 400GB with the help of a microSD card.

OPPO has been creating image-centric smartphones in recent years, and this trend continues with the introduction of the Find X. For self-portraits, it carries a 25-megapixel camera with F2.0 aperture. The back presents a dual camera system (16MP + 20MP) with F2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash. The Find X can record 2160p videos at a frame rate of 30fps.

The most conspicuous feature of the Find X is its notch-less, ample Panoramic Arc Screen, which OPPO claims has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 percent. OPPO has achieved this feat by making the phone's camera system mechanical. By simply tapping the camera app, the phone's camera system, named as the Stealth 3D Camera, pops/slides up. Closing the camera app makes the camera goes back to its default position into the handset's chassis. The mechanical approach to the Find X quite reminds us of the OPPO N3 in 2014, which has a rotating camera system.

Running on Android 8.1 Oreo with OPPO's very own ColorOS 5.1, the Find X's roster of connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and a reversible USB 2.0 Type-C connector. The phone's stamina is supported by a 3730mAh lithium-on battery with VOOC Flash Charge. While it doesn't have a fingerprint sensor, security is backed by the Face ID feature.

The launch of the Find X also cements the partnership between OPPO and Qualcomm. Powered by the AI-optimized Snapdragon 845 mobile platform, the Find X supports Android's AI-centric features such as Google Assistant and Google Lens. Using a low-power microphone with a DSP module, the Find X recognizes voice command through Google Assistant, whereas Google Lens makes use of the camera to find details about objects online.

Collaborating with Lamborghini, OPPO also announced the Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition. Featuring a body clad in carbon fiber texture with an engraved Lamborghini logo under a glass cover, this special variant of the Find X features Super VOOC Flash Charge. This feature allows the phone's 3400mAh battery to be recharged in just 35 minutes.

The OPPO Find X (256GB) will sell for EUR 999 starting in August, whereas the OPPO Find X Automobili Lamborghini Edition will sell for EUR 1,699.
