The FEU_ANBU team of Far Eastern University has emerged as the champions of the inaugural MSI NVIDIA University League PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG) Tournament, the first intercollegiate competition in the Philippines.

After weeks of intense competition, seven teams made it to the finals on July 21 at Titan Café, a GeForce-certified iCafe equipped with GeForce 1050-based PCs designed especially for gaming.

FEU_ANBU battled hard to come out on top to take home a MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3GB graphics card and other prizes each. CSB_Ninjaflex and FEUIT_Grandchasers were second and third, winning a MSI Immerse GH60 gaming headset and a MSI Vigor GK40 gaming keyboard respectively for each team member.

According to FEU_ANBU team captain James Bryan F. Gonzales, the team worked hard to win the competition. They practised and planned how they would attack as a team. Each member of the team contributed to getting the first place.

The MSI-NVIDIA University League PUBG Tournament was a resounding success with more than 600 players from eight universities vying for the honours and hundreds of gamers and nfans catching the grand final live at the iCafe.

“Although this is just a fun tournament, it was intense because the competitors took pride in representing their school. Playing on the powerful GeForce-based PCs gave them a better gaming experience, raising the level of the competition. Following the enthusiastic response this year, we plan to make the intercollegiate tournament an annual event,” said Simon Tan, director, consumer business, APAC South, NVIDIA.
