Honor revealed its latest addition to its X-series lineup, the 8X, packed with all of the hallmarks of a premium device: a 6.5-inch FullView display with a 1080 x 2340 resolution, a 91% screen-to-body ratio, a 20MP + 2MP dual camera combo on the rear and a 16MP camera within the notch, 4+128GB storage and expandable to 400GB, and a 2.5D double texture aurora glass body. The Honor 8X is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset that allows it to have similar AI features we’ve seen in their last flagship stunner, the Honor 10. The Honor 8X is available nationwide starting October 13, 2018 for PhP 12,990.
In a short few years, Honor is impressively emerging as one of the fastest-growing brands globally. As evidence, Honor opened its very first authorized brand shop in the Philippines at SM North Edsa on October 13, 2018. Key to the brand’s growth has been its sharp focus on providing consumer value and innovation, and the 8X is a pivotal smartphone in the series with its cutting-edge technology, features, and style, while maintaining its value-proposition.
Mr. George Zhao, President of Honor, said: “With the newly unveiled Honor 8X, Honor is setting new benchmarks in hitting the balance between value, design, and performance. Honor 8X isn’t just a beautiful embodiment of minimalism; it’s a trailblazer which demonstrates that flagship features do not demand flagship prices. Honor 8X exceeds the demands of consumers who don’t want to comprise on price, on performance, or on eye-catching appearance.”
The smartphone features include:
1. Large 6.5-inch screen with superb clarity: Honor 8X is equipped with a 6.5-inch Notch Full-View Display 2.0, and a 19.5:9 ratio in a 5.5-inch long and 7.8 mm thick body. It is closer to the 21:9 ratio used by cinemas and allows users to enjoy striking views on a sleek smartphone.
2. 91% screen-to-body ratio in a slim body: The screen-to-body ratio is key to smartphone design. Honor uses advanced chip-on-film (COF) technology and a patented antenna design to narrow the width of the bottom border to 4.25mm and achieve 91% screen-to-body ratio which beats most flagship smartphones.
3. Protection for eyes: There is a growing concern about the blue light exposure our eyes receive from screens on electronic devices. Honor 8X adopts a new generation of Eye Comfort mode certified by TüV Rheinland that can reduce the blue light radiation emitted by the screen and prevent eye fatigue. It also features sunlight and night display technology, which lets users see the screen clearly in the sunlight and makes reading before going to sleep more comfortable.
4. AIS super night shooting: 8X has industry-leading AIS intelligent anti-shaking technology. In night shooting mode, you can take perfect night shots under a maximum 6-second exposure, even with a shaky hand!
