Mobile gaming and the consumption of 4K streaming content are taking Asia-Pacific by storm these days. As a matter of fact, the region accounts for an impressive 47% share of the global mobile gaming market and is set to generate over USD 72.2 billion by the end of 2019.

Addressing the continuously growing consumer demand for a more seamless mobile gaming and 4K entertainment experience at home, Linksys, now the connected home division within the newly merged Belkin International and Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) entry, is bringing to the Philippines the Linksys MR8300 Tri-Band Gaming Mesh WiFi Router.

A high-performance router, the MR8300 is designed to deliver up to 2.2Gbps of superior speed by harnessing a 716MHz quad-core processor that improves overall network performance for faster wired, wireless, and WAN to LAN connection speeds. With these specifications, the router is ideal for home applications like 4K entertainment and peak mobile gaming, both of which require massive bandwidth.

In a Tolly benchmark test, the MR8300 performed at least 71% better than competition routers in a real-world congested environment consisting of six gaming mobile phone clients and another 21 active (and idle) devices that were connected to the test routers. The MR8300 achieved an average ping time of 7.3ms against other competitor routers while heavily loaded with mobile gaming clients and background application traffic. For entertainment, the MU-MIMO and Beamforming technology of the MR8300 also work to ensure that high-performing devices like smart TVs, notebook PC, and phones can connect to the Internet through faster and dedicated Wi-Fi channels.

Part of Linksys Max-stream series of routers, the MR8300 hybrid router comes with Intelligent Mesh Technology which enables users to have the flexibility to expand the Wi-Fi coverage in their homes by adding Velop nodes to the system.

With this technology, the MR8300 and Velop nodes can work together to cover any floor plan and Wi-Fi footprint. It allows for Wi-Fi bands and channels to adjust according to Wi-Fi habits. If a node loses power or connection to the system, the remaining nodes reestablish connections to each other and the Internet. When you add one or more Velop nodes to the MR8300, they will communicate with each other to form a single, unified wireless network. For security, the MR8300 supports one network name and password, one admin login, one interface for management and monitoring, and one guest network for the whole home.

The Linksys MR8300 Tri-Band Gaming Mesh WiFi Router is now available at the recommended retail price of PhP 10,995 at selected Linksys Network Retailers, namely Datablitz, Octagon Computer Superstores, Microvalley, Silicon Valley, Thinking Tools, and Villman Computer stores, and on Lazada. Making the deal sweeter for customers, every purchase of the MR8300 gives a buyer free Belkin Premium Items and a Linksys Gift Card worth P8,700. The promo runs until September 30, 2019, while stock lasts.
