Vivo X21 brings in-display fingerprint scanning to PH

Marking another milestone in the Philippine smartphone landscape, Vivo officially unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the X21, which brings to consumers world's first In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology along with other cutting-edge features such as FullView Display, AI photography, and face recognition technology.

A pioneering innovation resulting from Vivo's research and development team, In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology brings a secure and intuitive smartphone unlocking solution to consumers. Replacing the now ubiquitous rear fingerprint sensor, In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology has enabled Vivo to make the X21 look sleeker and more unified than other smartphones. A mere flick of the wrist and a press on the screen let users unlock the X21 effortlessly and seamlessly. The said technology was initially shown as a prototype at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year.

In addition to In-Display Fingerprint Scanning Technology, the X21 also integrates Face Access as an additional and alternative security feature by means of scanning the user's face.

Boasting a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio, the X21 comes with a 6.28-inch FHD+ FullView Display with a very minimal top notch size and ultrathin side bezels measuring 1.66 millimeters. By enhancing the device's user interface, Vivo has made an adaptive notification bar to maintain the immersive experience. The X21 also makes use of P3 display color management technology and supports P3 wide color gamut, resulting in more accurate, natural, and saturated color reproduction.

Continuing to improve the photographic capabilities of its smartphones, Vivo has equipped the X21 with 12-megapixel front and rear cameras with Dual Pixel sensors. The rear snapper is also coupled with a 5-megapixel secondary camera.

On the software level, AI Scene Recognition enables the X21's cameras to distinguish subjects and adjust settings automatically. The cameras can detect and identify 18 tags and 140 scenarios like night, sports, portrait, and food.

Extending the application of AI to its cameras, the X21 also includes AI Face Beauty and AI HDR features which can identify the subject's sex, skin tone, and ambient lighting to figure out the best facial enhancement settings. Through AI Face Beauty, the camera learns the user's specific beauty preferences, generating a customized beautification effect for every user.

Beating beneath the elegant chassis of the X21 is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660AIE mobile platform with 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. With these specs, launching, loading, and switching from/to games happen seamlessly. The X21 automatically adjusts according to game requirements while gaming. Another gaming-centric feature, Game On prevents accidental touch operations.

To complete the entertainment experience with the X21, the handset offers immersive audio, thanks to the AK4376A audio chipset and Deep Field technology, which makes the phone produce panoramic surround, deep bass, and crystal-clear voice.

The Vivo X21 sells in the Philippines for the price of PhP 29,999. Part of its sale campaign for the X21 in the country, Vivo has partnered with online shopping portals Akulaku and Shopee Philippines.
