realme 11 Pro+ 5G Review: Imbibing the Mediterranean Vibe

realme Philippines welcomed the arrival of the realme 11 Pro Series 5G in the country through a Mediterranean summer-inspired event at Whitespace Manila in Makati City. The event theme aptly fits the vogue look of the new offerings from the phone maker, particularly the Sunrise Beige version of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G, which is the subject of this review.

Design

The Mediterranean color palette consists of earthy tones, which realme 11 Pro+ 5G Sunrise Beige has. Designed in collaboration with Matteo Menotto, a former Gucci print designer and Bulgari's Head of Design for Prints, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G Sunrise Beige effortlessly incorporates the inspiration of its designer, who works in Milan, Italy, which is part of the Mediterranean world. 

With a back clad in vegan leather, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G Sunrise Beige feels comfortable in the hand while providing enhanced grip and maneuverability. The vegan leather texture also does not easily attract unsightly fingerprints and smudges. Those who prefer a darker color should check out the Oasis Green variant or wait for the upcoming Astral Black version of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G.

A metallic strip of orange and silver divides the vegan leather back cover in the middle. The strip runs from the bottom to the top, interrupted by the rear camera housed in a circular glass panel. The sides of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G glimmer because of the bronze frame. The power button and the volume rocker sit on the right side, while the dual SIM slot and the USB Type-C port, which doubles as an audio jack, sit on the bottom side. The realme 11 Pro+ 5G supports Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6 for wireless connectivity.

Display

On the front, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G sports a 6.7-inch curved display with 1080 × 2412p resolution. Apart from giving an uninterrupted, brilliant view of content on the phone, the screen also has a pulse width modulation (PWM) frequency of 2160MHz. PWM is a technique used to control display brightness for eye protection. With a PWM dimming frequency much higher than most smartphones (including flagship models rated at 480Hz or 240Hz), the realme 11 Pro+ 5G display releases fewer flickers. When a phone screen flickers more frequently, our eye muscles work harder, resulting in fatigue and discomfort. Less flickers mean less eye strain and headaches after lengthy phone use. With this feature, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G received TÜV Rheinland low blue light and flicker-free certifications.

Camera

Another conspicuous feature of the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is its rear triple camera system (200MP OIS SuperZoom + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP macro). The realme 11 Pro+ 5G rear camera features 4x in-sensor and 20x maximum zoom, allowing users to get a closer shot of far subjects. making the phone an ideal companion when traveling, attending concerts, or watching sporting events. Depending on lighting conditions and the distance of the subject, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G can deliver decently clear shots when the zoom is used, though do not expect them to be as good as the ones captured by a DSLR equipped with a zoom lens. Without zoom, images taken with the realme 11 Pro+ 5G generally look good and worthy to be shared on social media. realme has equipped the phone with an upgraded Samsung ISOCELL HP3 for the rear camera and a 32MP Sony IMX615 image sensor for the front camera.

Performance and conclusion

Running on Android 13 and powered by a Dimensity 7050 processor with Mali-G68 MP4 GPU, 12GB RAM, and 512GB onboard storage, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G scored 586039 in AnTuTu Benchmark. The phone also boasts a long battery life with its 5000mAh lithium-polymer battery that supports 100W SUPERVOOC fast charging technology.  

Selling for the price of ₱24,999, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is a compelling proposition for those who are planning to buy a new smartphone with unique looks, superior display, and remarkable cameras. Arriving just in time for the onset of the lengthy Christmas season, the realme 11 Pro+ 5G is an affable addition to a growing list of gift ideas.
