It’s that time of the year again for fans, artists, and geeks to unite as Warner TV Pop Expo staged a bigger, better, and geekier pop culture experience last Saturday, July 14, at Bonifacio High Street in Taguig City.

This year, Warner TV Pop Expo celebrated comics, art, movie, and TV series, as well as board and video games and all things tech. The day-long event boasted fun and interactive games, and activities like street art exhibits, tournaments, and music performances. Admission was open to all, and all activities were free of charge.

Physical games in the Heroic Training Grounds served as training grounds for DC Universe hero aspirants. Inspired by TV shows such as Arrow and Lethal Weapon, activities such as Archery Attack, swordplay, and the all-new Toy Pistol Shooting Range kept the adrenaline rush among the participants. Meanwhile, the Dunk King-inspired area allowed participants to create a trick-eye photos of themselves while performing a ring dunk.

Fans got the chance to express their tech-savvy side at the Maker Center, where they explored cutting-edge technology surrounding augmented and virtual reality, 3D printing, drones, and robotics. In addition, Pop Panel Talks hosted insightful discussions with local artists about comics, art, film, toys, and design.

Expo visitors were delighted to take photos inside the Studio City where film backgrounds, props, and heroes were used as if they were in their favorite TV series. And coming straight from Central City, local coffee shop CC Jitters handed out free cups of coffee to keep everyone energized throughout the day.

A live art exhibit filled the streets of High Street as local street artists produced creative mural on the spot. Moreover, the Gallery of Krypton featured works inspired by concepts and characters from the planet Krypton. Comics fans had their chance to meet artists who worked for DC Comics, Carlo Pagulayan and Harvey Tolibao, as well as Pol Medina Jr. of Pugad Baboy.

Other activities such as table top gaming, computer game tournament, and a lot of onstage activities kept the fans’ enthusiasm for other areas of pop culture. A jam night with favorite local bands and artists including Nanay Mo, Hansom, BennyBunnyBand, and Cheats were also held to cap off the event.

A lot of new Warner TV Pop Expo exclusives were given away for free at the Rewards Center to all those who registered, joined the activities, and earned points. In addition, those who dressed up as a Warner TV, Cartoon Network, or DC character automatically got free items upon registration.
