Indulge in The Umbrella Academy on Netflix with LG

Hot on the heels of its partnership with Netflix for the debut of Korean series Kingdom, LG Philippines has teamed up once again with the online streaming giant to bring another immersive viewing experience with the introduction of a new original series titled The Umbrella Academy.

During an event held at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City, LG put up Seven Super Rooms where guests were able to test their wits and become a superhero for a day by unlocking rooms filled with mindboggling challenges.

Celebrities and Sanya Lopez, Benjamin Alves, Khalil Ramos, Gil Cuerva, Dani Baretto, and Binibining Pilipinas International 2016 Nicole Cordoves – also the LG OLED TV ambassadors – replicated the superpowers of the heroes featured in the new series. Several challenges included giving out commands and turning them into reality with the help of LG OLED TV's AI capability and Crystal Clear sound.

LG OLED 4K TVs were installed in each room, delivering immersive viewing experience, thanks to their cutting-edge display that showcase detailed and realistically-colored images, and ultra-fast response sound enhanced by Dolby Atmos Sound technology.

Based on the comic book series written by Gerard Way (My Chemcial Romance) and illustrated by Gabriel Ba, The Umbrella Academy is now streaming on Netflix, and LG recommends fans to watch it on the company’s 4K OLED TV and Nano Cell TV.

Featuring an all-star cast led by Ellen Page and Mary J. Blige, this show features a story revolving around estranged siblings reunited by their father's death. Each sibling possesses an extraordinary power which will guide them into a mission to unlock family secrets as well as save the humanity from an apocalyptic threat. The series is made possible by Steve Blackman and Jeremy Slater.

As part of the LG-Netflix tie-up, every purchase of the LG 4K OLED TV or Nano Cell TV until March 15, 2019 comes with six months of Netflix Premium access.
