SM Supermalls debuts first in-mall smart robot in PH

Mall-goers, meet SAM, the country's first ever in-mall smart robot. He can roam around and interact with people just like some of the robots that came before him. But most importantly, he can help you with the matters involving your mall-hopping experience: shops whereabouts, today's schedules, potential great deals, you name it.

SAM is an artificial intelligent (AI) humanoid robot made possible by SM in partnership with Cal-Comp Technology with the aim to deliver a smoother, more personalized, and efficient interaction with customers.

SAM is equipped with an advanced face recognition technology that gives him the capability to make personalized greetings to customers once they enter the mall. What's more is that this robot serves as a concierge running online 24/7 to provide information to its customers.

SAM was officially launched by SM Supermalls last March 28, 2019, at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

“Innovation is what SM strives for in providing better customer service to all and we are here to introduce our latest innovation yet,” said Steven Tan, SM Supermall COO. “SAM is easy to approach and has answers to almost everything SM mall-related, making shopping seamless and fun to our customers.”

Currently, there are three units of SAM roaming around the halls of SM Megamall. The mall-assistant robot will be assisting customers and mall-goers at other SM Supermalls soon. If you happened to see him, don't be shy and say hi to him!
