Hot on the heels of its show-stopping events in South Africa and France, LG Electronics finally brought its annual InnoFest roadshow to Asia. Witnessed by more than 250 representatives from all over the region, InnoFest Asia 2018 took place at the new LG Science Park in Seoul, South Korea from April 23 to 25.

“LG InnoFest is the perfect opportunity to introduce our unique ThinQ AI-enabled products to our partners in key regions,” said Han Chang-hee, vice president of LG’s Global Marketing Center. “AI technology is fast becoming a part of our world but the realization of how fast this revolution is coming is still unrealized by many consumers. InnoFest allows us to bring our partners — who are engaging local customers on a daily basis — into the fold.”

Embarking on the theme "An Invitation to the AI Home That Thinks of You," InnoFest 2018 showcased LG's wide range of appliances featuring the brand's signature AI technology SmartThinQ, and other innovations created to make life easier and more convenient. Guests were able to visualize and experience the AI-powered appliances in a natural home environment through a mock living room, kitchen, and laundry room during the event.

Beginning with the mock kitchen, LG introduced the InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator. Equipped with SmartThinQ, this new LG fridge allows users to control its settings through their smartphones, such as temperature, and diagnose problems with help of a mobile app. The appliance can also call up recipes based on the stored ingredients, and relay instructions to an LG smart oven which automatically adjusts cooking setting after receiving the recipe.

Moving on to the makeshift laundry room, guests got a chance to take a first look at the LG TWINWash washing machine. Equipped with a main washer and a mini washer, this washing machine can accommodate two loads of laundry simultaneously. It is also Wi-Fi-connected, so users can remotely control and monitor its activity and energy use, as well as download wash cycles.

At the living room, delegates were treated to LG's future concept of home entertainment with the newest model of the LG OLED TV. Powered by LG's very own Alpha 9 intelligent processor, the new LG OLED TV delivers remarkable picture quality with true-to-life colors from almost any viewing angle. Complementing the superior image quality is Dolby Atmos support for immersive audio. Embedded with AI technology, the LG OLED TV supports voice command recognition through the bundled remote control, and uses services based on the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) to deliver real-time information and locate channels offering desired content. Combining these capabilities, viewers can simply say "search for this movie's soundtrack" or turn off the TV when this program is over" without repeating the program's title or specifying a time.

InnoFest Asia 2018 had featured zones where LG showcased its other smart home appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, microwave ovens, and airconditioners), the brand's energy-saving inverter technology, and premium Super UHD television models.
