7th Salomon X-Trail Run happening in Subic this July

Continuing to promote outdoor athleticism and push the boundaries of trail running, world's leading trail running brand Salomon announced the return of the highly anticipated Salomon X-Trail Run to be held at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone on July 22, 2018.

Conceived in 2008, the Salomon X-Trail Run is an annual event organized by Salomon throughout the Southeast Asian region, specifically in countries like Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and the Philippines. Because of the exceptional and technical trail routes involved, the X-Trail Run has gained the respect of the trail running community, continuing to attract more and more fitness junkies, outdoor enthusiasts, and runners from different levels.

Following the success of last year's event which gathered nearly 1,200 participants, the 7th edition of the Salomon X-Trail Run Pilipinas aims to attract 1,500 runners across the Philippines, putting them in the challenging, lush, and vigorous forest trails of Subic.

This year's race consists of two categories: Trail Run for beginners with 6km and 12km distances, and the more technical Mountain Run for experienced runners with 12km and 32km distances. The Mountain Run category combines challenging terrains of asphalt, sand, and rocks, made complicated by rivers. Due to the demanding nature of the race, participants are required to get a medical certificate prior to registration, and must be equipped with a headlamp, whistle, and a hydration pack/belt with at least 500mL of water. Non-compliance will result in disqualification from the race.

The requirement among the participants to bring their own water bottles is aligned with Salomon's Green Race Movement since its inception in 2010.

Both Trail Run and Mountain Run participants will get a race bib, timing chip, Salomon X-Trail technical jersey, Salomon Microfiber tower, post-race meal, raffle coupon, and products from sponsors. However, only those who will be able to finish within the cut-off time will receive a Finisher's medal for the Mountain Run category.
