The North Face Philippines recently announced its partnership with the Philippine National Climbing Team (PNCT), officially establishing its role as a key sponsor for the national team for climbing, which is set to represent the country in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in 2020.

At an exclusive media event held at the R.O.X. store in Bonifacio Global City, The North Face Philippines shared its motivation behind the brand's commitment to support PNCT. By equipping the team with the cutting-edge gears and equipment, the brand aims to empower its members in their journey to the Olympics. Also, by doing so, the company wants to spark hope among young athletes who are aspiring to enter the international sports scene. The partnership between The North Face and the PNCT also helps in promoting the growth of sport climbing in the country and the creation of more outdoor climbing spots across the Philippines.

Supported by the Sport Climbing Association of the Philippines, a non-stock, non-profit National Sports Association dedicated to sport climbing in the country, the PNCT consists of a team of 15 athletes who have been competing and excelling in various competitions here and abroad. Former PNCT athletes Miel Pahati and Jao Sauco now serve as team coaches, guiding the young athletes in their journey toward the Olympic Games.

For the first time in the history of Olympic Games, the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be hosting the rock climbing category, a sport that requires athletes to be equipped with the right apparel, gears, and equipment for enhanced performance.

Coinciding with the announcement of the partnership, The North Face Philippines is rolling out new products as part of its No Days Off campaign. Through this campaign, outdoor explorers have no more excuses when it comes to training regardless of the time and environment, thanks to The North Face's array of accessories, apparels, and footwear.
