Technology and learning continue to converge this 2019 as Phoenix Publishing House, through its corporate social responsibility program Alagang Phoenix, teamed up with tech and imaging company Ricoh Philippines, aiming to empower learning and development of various mission schools in the country.

One of the notable educational publishers in the Philippines, Phoenix Publishing House remains committed to continuously improve the quality of Philippine education and the quality of life of educators through the company's CSR arm and its activities such as conducting training and workshops for the academe. On the other hand, Ricoh Philippines pursues its sustainability through a balance of 3Ps – Prosperity (economic activities), People (society), and Planet (environment) – in order to help materialize a sustainable society.

This partnership program serves as an opportunity for both companies to usher in the development of schools that run under several communities and dioceses across the archipelago. It started with the turnover of several multifunction printers and projectors that Ricoh Philippines donated to recipient schools last February 13 at the headquarters of Phoenix Publishing House in Quezon City.

Present during the turnover ceremony were representatives of the recipient schools, including: Rev. Fr. Elmer Jose Dizon, superintendent of the Archdiocese of San Fernando Educational System; Msgr. Manuel Bravo Jr., superintendent of the Archdiocesan of Lingayen-Dagupan Catholic Schools; Rev. Fr. Alain Manalo, superintendent the Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System, Inc.; and the Msgr. Michael Feliciano Veneracion, superintendent of Cabanatuan Catholic Educational System (CACES).

“We have found through the Alagang Phoenix initiatives that we share common goals and aspirations – the betterment of society through the activities of the businesses that we run. It is also for this reason that this partnership is very close to my heart. And I hope that with this joint program we may make some impact on our youth and on our country,” said Eric Sulit, president and CEO of Ricoh Philippines. The company also has CSR programs of its own, such as the Eco-Action campaign, an annual global initiative focused on caring for the environment, and the Adopt-a-School program.

One of the grateful recipients of the said program, Rev. Fr. Manalo said the donation will do a long way in improving the quality of education in their schools.

“We are truly grateful to Ricoh Philippines for this partnership. These devices will be of great value to the recipients and will help modernize the schools’ systems,” said Ms. Lynda R. Sibal, company president of Phoenix Publishing House, Inc. Also, present in spearheading the ceremony for the publishing firm's part was Penny Sibal-Balbin, the executive vice president.
