NEW INFO-SHARING APP AIMS TO FOSTER DIGITAL BAYANIHAN IN COMMUNITIES

As Filipinos continue to navigate life during a pandemic, they need reliable information to help them decide on things that have an impact on their day-to-day lives. Ready to help them sort through the usual clutter of data online while also connecting with their community is the newly launched information exchange and public service app Share.

A combination of the words “share” and “area,” Share empowers users with reliable and hyperlocal information about things that matter to them from government announcements, work opportunities, and events that are customized based on their chosen location or area.

This means a person living in a certain barangay or city will only see the information that’s relevant to his or her community. This is especially helpful nowadays as people are advised to stay indoors and are unable to interact with the people in their area face to face. 

The heart of Share is the concept of digital Bayanihan, where people can help one another make sound and safe decisions and overcome daily struggles through exchanging relevant and verified information online. In the app, users can find and share ‘barangay-level information’ that do not usually make big headlines such as job postings or side hustles, water or power interruptions, list of bayad centers, clinics that provide vaccinations, flooded streets, and more.  

With an objective of building stronger and closer communities in the Philippines, Share has three key features: a Bulletin Board where users can find information classified into health, jobs, deals, transport, ganaps (leisure), and alisto (alerts); a Community Wall where users can share tips, deals, or make inquiries; and Messaging, which allows users to interact and connect with other members in the community. Users are assured that information found on the app is verified or coming from official and legitimate sources, preventing misinformation and the spread of fake news.  

For now, information posted in the Bulletin Board covers mainly Marikina, Quezon City, and select cities in Metro Manila, but many users have started their communities already in various areas. With increasing posts from users, Share hopes to build this info-sharing culture among Filipinos across the country. Users have praised the app for the helpful and hyperlocal information it provides that keep them updated about the happenings in their communities.

Bagong info-sharing app, nais palakasin ang bayanihan sa mga komunidad

SHAREA APP, MAKAKATULONG SA PAGHARAP NG MGA PILIPINO SA PANDEMYA

Sa patuloy na pagharap ng mga Pilipino sa pandemya, kailangan nila ng impormasyon para makapag-desisyon sa mga mahahalagang bagay sa kanilang buhay sa araw-araw.

Makakatulong nila rito ang bagong public service app na Sharea, na sasalansan sa mga datos at ilalapit din sila sa kanilang komunidad.

Mula sa pinagsamang salitang share at area ang Sharea app na nakapaghahatid ng mahahalagang impormasyon tulad ng mga anunsyo ng gobyerno, bakanteng trabaho, at mga aktibidad na na partikular sa pipiliing lugar o lokasyon ng gagamit nito.

Ibig sabihin, ang makikitang impormasyon ng gagamit nito ay para mismo sa kanyang kinabibilangang barangay o lungsod. Malaking tulong ito lalo na ngayong community quarantine para manatiling updated sa ganap sa komunidad maski hindi lumalabas ng bahay.

“Digital bayanihan” ang konsepto sa likod ng Sharea kung saan makatutulong ang bawat Pilipino sa isa’t isa na makadiskarte at magdesisyon sa araw-araw sa pamamagitan ng palitan ng impormasyon, lalo na ngayong may pandemya. Dito makikita ang mga impormasyon na mahalaga sa bawat pamayanan na maaaring hindi na umabot sa balita tulad ng mga raket, water o power interruptions, listahan ng bayad centers, listahan ng clinics na nagbibigay ng bakuna, at marami pang iba sa mismong mga barangay o lungsod.  

Para makatulong palakasin at paglapitin ang mga komunidad sa bansa, mayroong tatlong pangunahing feature ang Sharea. Sa Bulletin Board makikita ang mga impormasyon tungkol sa kalusugan, mga ganap, at iba pa. Pero hindi lamang makatatanggap ang gumagamit ng app ng impormasyon. Maaari rin siyang magbahagi ng kanyang sariling nalalaman tulad ng mga magandang bilihan, nakitang aksidente, o anumang payo na makatutulong sa kanyang kapwa sa Community Wall. Pwede rin gamitin ang app para makapagpadala ng mensahe sa isa’t isa.  Makasisiguro rin na totoo at lehitimo ang mga impormasyon dito dahil sinisigurado na mapagkakatiwalaan ang pinanggalingan ng mga post kundi galing mismo sa mga opisyal na source para maiwasan ang pagkalat ng pekeng balita at impormasyon.

Sa ngayon, karamihan sa mga impormasyon sa Bulletin Board ng Sharea ay para sa Marikina, Quezon City, at iba pang lungsod sa Metro Manila, ngunit nagsimula na ring bumuo ng komunidad ang maraming user sa kani-kanilang lugar. Sa pagrami ng mga gumagamit nito, umaasa ang  Sharea na patatagin pa ang kultura ng pagpapalitan ng impormasyon sa pagitan ng mga Pilipino sa buong bansa.
