Believing in the importance of democratizing knowledge and giving all individuals the opportunity to build technical skills, Amazon subsidiary AWS has committed to training 29 million people to grow their tech skills through free cloud computing skills training by 2025.

Realizing this commitment, AWS has launched AWS re/Start, a cohort-based workforce development training program that prepares individuals for careers in the cloud and connects them to potential employers. The free program focuses on helping unemployed and underemployed individuals--regardless of their background, education, or social status--launch new careers.

AWS re/Start equips individuals and teams with the skills to maximize AWS Cloud to innovate in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape. With training designed by the experts at AWS, leaders and learners at all levels become empowered to build with confidence, drive transformation, and deliver results in their organizations.

To make re/Start possible, AWS has collaborated with various organizations to support underrepresented groups, minorities, displaced individuals, young people, and other social segments.

In the Philippines, AWS has partnered with Globe Telecom, UnionBank, Edukasyon.ph, and Stratpoint Technologies to support the re/Start program. With Globe, the Amazon subsidiary implemented the AWS Skills Guild, which aims to equip employees with the skills they need to innovate and help the telecommunications company stay competitive in the marketplace. Meanwhile, the partnership between AWS and UnionBank aimed to accelerate the bank's digital transformation journey by building cloud fluency across its organization.

With Edukasyon.ph, AWS re/Start is a 12-week skills development and job training program that prepares learners for careers in the cloud. The program also covers practical career skills, such as interviewing and resume writing, to help individuals prepare for entry-level cloud roles. In the Philippines, re/Start cohorts are run virtually and led by an expert instructor, with a mix of live classes and supplemental on-demand videos.

Recognizing the pervasiveness of digital transformation that has become more evident than it was years ago, Stratpoint partnered with AWS through the re/Start program to identify individuals who are well-versed in cloud computing for business optimization.
