More than a month after HUAWEI officially launched the HUAWEI nova 11 Series smartphones in the Philippines, the company sent us the top model of the series, the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro. HUAWEI introduced the nova 11 Pro along with its siblings, namely the HUAWEI nova 11 and the HUAWEI nova 11i. Let us take a quick look at what the prime member of the lineup has to offer.
The most outstanding physical feature of the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro is its nova monogram vegan leather design on the back, which HUAWEI claims as the industry's first debossing process for vegan leather. Apart from the green color (the phone is also available in black), the nova 11 Pro exclaims eco-friendliness and sustainability with its use of vegan or faux leather, which means that the company harmed no animal in manufacturing the material. Besides providing the nova 11 Pro with a unique look, vegan leather enhances grip and maneuverability when handling the smartphone.
On the front, the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro boasts a 6.78-inch Flawless OLED Curved Display (2562 x 1200p resolution), which provides a seamless and uninterrupted view of the screen when looking at photos, videos, games, or any content online. The display also features 120 Hz refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, P3 wide color gamut, and AI-enhancement. For protection, the screen of the nova 11 Pro uses HUAWEI Kunlun Glass, which makes it resistant to impact because of accidental drops.
The HUAWEI nova 11 Pro carries its front camera system on the upper left side of the screen. The system has a 60-megapixel ultra-wide autofocus front camera and an 8-megapixel close-up portrait front camera with 2x optical zoom and 5x digital zoom. Meanwhile, the rear camera system of the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro consists of a 50-megapixel Ultra Vision Camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide macro camera, laser focus sensor, and a 10-channel color temperature sensor. The rear camera system also carries the Super Star Orbit Ring. The eye-catching ring enhances the phone design and draws the subject's attention for good portrait shots.
Within its gorgeous body, the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 4G. The mobile platform has an octa-core CPU (4x Cortex-A78 at 2.4 GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 at 1.8 GHz) and an Adreno 642L GPU. The platform goes along with 8 GB RAM, 256 GB ROM, and the EMUI operating system. The nova 11 Pro incorporates a 4500 mAh battery that recharges through a Type-C USB 2.0 port. The USB port doubles as a physical earphone jack (the phone doesn't have a 3.5 mm audio jack). Wireless connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2.
In the Philippines, HUAWEI offers the HUAWEI nova 11 Pro for the price of ₱33,999. We'll learn more about the system and camera performance of the nova 11 Pro once we upgrade this preview article as a full review.
