First-ever Untold Stories at Night film festival shows that films can be shot with just a smartphone
Samsung celebrated Filipino filmmakers at the first-ever Untold Stories at Night, a festival that screened short films shot using the Galaxy S22 Ultra, last June 17 at the BGC Arts Center in Taguig. Samsung tapped five of the country’s top directors and #TeamGalaxy Ambassadors to create original short films, which ranged from romance to science fiction. Pepe Diokno’s ​​Siargao: Day and Night is a story of resiliency and triumph after Typhoon Odette. The beautiful island recovers from the typhoon, bringing life and nightlife back to the town. Sinag tells the story of Rafael, who dreams of performing in his town’s only bar. He decides to defy all rules and performs against all odds. The film is directed by Noel Escondo and Tristan Cua of Mobile Filmmaking Philippines, a community of filmmakers.
