80% of Metro Manila now with Globe's 5G outdoor coverage

80% of Metro Manila can now experience 5G outdoor coverage, a result of Globe’s sustained and vigorous initiatives to modernize its network which allow its customers to experience the latest in telecom technology. The company has upgraded 884 locations in Metro Manila into 5G-ready sites to make 5G service available to its customers. It will continue to install more 5G-ready sites all over the country. “We continue to invest on our network so our customers get to experience the many promises and opportunities of the most advanced technologies like 5G. With our aggressive roll outs, our network is getting closer to making the whole of Metro Manila 5G ready. Philippines improves by 13 spots in global speedtest ranking

The Philippines' average speeds continue to improve, registering increases in December 2020 and besting 13 more countries at this time, according to the Speedtest Global Index by Ookla, the global leader in internet testing and analysis. In December, the country’s average mobile download speed was higher at 22.5 Mbps compared to 18.49 Mbps in November 2020, with an upload speed of 6.03 Mbps and latency of 33 ms. Thanks to the government's efforts in easing restrictions on telecom builds, Globe has been rigorous in its improvements and network upgrades towards achieving a #FirstWorldNetwork. In terms of fixed broadband, Ookla data shows that the Philippine average rose to 31.44 Mbps in December from 28.68 Mbps in November 2020*. The global average for mobile in December was 47.20 megabits per second (Mbps) for downloads, 12.67 Mbps for uploads, and latency of 36 milliseconds (ms). LONGi supplies 100MW high-efficiency monocrystalline modules to the largest integrated wind and solar project in the Philippines

At 232MW, the project in Ilocos Norte Province is the largest integrated wind and solar power plant in the Philippines. LONGi was selected as the exclusive module supplier, delivering 100MW high efficiency monocrystalline solar panels.  The project, developed by Qingdao Zhongzi Zhongcheng Group Co., Ltd., started construction in March, 2017. The site is in a primeval forest in the region of Pasuquin. To ensure smooth delivery, Chen Jinliang, LONGi Logistics Manager and Bai Liwen, LONGi Solar Sales Manager visited the area many times to design the optimal transport scheme and build the roads to deliver the modules to the site.
