URC-Thailand cited as among the best companies to work for in Asia

Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) subsidiary in Thailand has been named as among the “Best Companies to Work for in Asia”, for a work culture that values its employees as key resources. The award was given by HR Asia, regarded as an authoritative regional publisher on human resources. URC (Thailand) Co. Ltd. was among 38 companies to be recognized out of a field of 138 firms. UNICEF concerned about situation of children affected by typhoons in the Philippines

Less than two weeks after Super Typhoon Rolly/Goni brought destructive wind and rain to the Philippines, Typhoon Ulysses/Vamco left many residents trapped in floodwaters or taking refuge in evacuation centers. UNICEF is concerned for children and families who continue to bear the brunt of natural disasters in one of the most emergency prone countries in the world. Filipino Companies Believe Virtual Collaboration Will Be the Top 5G Use Case

Filipinos believe that the most critical use cases for 5G will be virtual business collaboration experiences and industrial/corporate applications, followed by consumer deployments, such as gaming/Esports and smart vehicles, according to a recent study commissioned by Ciena (NYSE: CIEN). Holcim, Human Nature partner for sustainable management of plastic wastes

Holcim Philippines and social enterprise Human Nature have teamed up to lessen plastics going to landfills with the former using used shampoo bottles and other plastic packaging as alternative fuels in making cement.
